Darjeeling is located in the state of West Bengal is situated at an attitude of 6,710 ft in Lesser Himalaya. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is noted for its Darjeeling Himalayan Railways and its famous tea industry. Tour Plan
BAGDOGRA AIRPORT / NJP RAILWAY STATION – GANGTOK (120 KM/4-5 Hours)
On arrival at Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station, our cab will pick you up & you’ll start the journey towards Gangtok. On arrival in Gangtok, check into the Hotel. After rest & freshen up visit market nearby. Have dinner & overnight stay in the hotel.
EXCURSION TO TSOMGO LAKE & BABA MANDIR
After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 feet) & Baba Mandir (13,200 feet) which is 55 km one way from Gangtok city. The lake is highly revered by the local Buddhists and Hindus as a sacred lake. Further Nathula Pass is located at the Indo China border at an altitude of 14,100 feet is a favourite hotspot place of visit for visitors coming to Sikkim. It was the place through which the famous Silk Route used to operate until 1962. This used to be the silk trade route between India and Tibet. In evening return to Gangtok hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Note: In case of landslide or any other reason Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provided alternate sightseeing. Also, tourists are given special permit to visit Nathula Pass, 4 days a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday) and the numbers of vehicle are restricted to visit Nathula each day. Availability of permit will be given on the spot on extra charges.
GANGTOK LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
Post breakfast drive to Banjhakri eco-park (30 minutes from town). Thereafter visit Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (museum with collections or antique and rare Buddhism related items), Do Drul Chorten and Ropeway at Hur-huray dara. In afternoon enjoy the spectacular views of Flower Show, Bakthang Waterfall, Enchey Monastery, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh tok and Tashi View Point (to see Mt. Khangchendzonga and other peaks). In evening return to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
GANGTOK TO DARJEELING (98 KM/4 Hours)
Post breakfast drive to Darjeeling via Rangpo. River Rafting could also be done on the way on extra cost. Reach Darjeeling and check into the Hotel. Spend leisure time to stroll around to the Mall (Chowrasta). In evening return to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING
Early Morning (at 0400 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. In evening return to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DAY TOUR TO MIRIK (5800 FTS 48 KMS/2 HRS)
Post breakfast drive to Mirik and visit the Sumendu Lake. Enjoy boating at the Lake and Horse-riding. Then drive back to Darjeeling. On the way visit Pashupati market (Indo-Nepal Border town/subjected to the availability of the permit from Nepalese Customs/Defense) Stop by Lepcha Jagat to view Mt. Khanchendzonga and its adjacent peaks. Evening will be free to walk around the Chowrasta (The Mall). Have overnight stay at the Hotel.
DARJEELING – BAGDOGRA AIRPORT / NJP RAILWAY STATION (68 KM/3 Hours)
After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station for your return journey.
